Skill Set

I'm skilled in xHTML, CSS, Flash, iPhone and Android UI development, and Javascript. I also have an expertise in all graphics applications like Photoshop and Illustrator, a focussed design sense, SEO and usability knowledge, cross browser compatibility, and the ability to work in all web development frameworks out there. I'm known to be dropped into almost any situation and be able to clean up the interface.

User Interface Design Experience

2010-Present - Justin.tv
Hired as a Product Designer, I ended up the Lead Mobile Product Designer for Justin.tv's Android and iPhone live broadcasting applications. Here is a review from Mashable of the Android application, CNET's hand's on review of the iPhone broadcaster, and TechCrunch's write up of the iPhone broadcaster. The apps are still available in their respective markets.

2007-2009 - Newzwag
Newzwag is a subsidiary of the Agence France Presse. I was a member of a three-person development team tasked with building new ways for people to engage with AFP's news content. I was the sole User Interface developer who's role was to create the front end design, come up with the most ideal user experiences, create all graphical assets including logos and identity, and integrate the design with CSS/HTML with the Ruby on Rails code ensuring the products worked well on every browser. I learned the best strategies for setting up projects that could use an infinite number of skins while utilizing the same backend code. I also became very comfortable designing interfaces for both websites and apps for the iPhone.

2005-2007 - GUBA.com
I was the lead User Interface designer and sole designer in the company. Tasks have included, but definitely not limited to, creating photoshop mockups, wireframes, html and flash prototypes, integration of the mockups into Perl, skinning flash players, and working with both Subversion and arch version revision systems. I also became comfortable working in an 'agile' development process with a small team and tight deadlines. Though I feel the interface was compromised a little too much by management decisions, CNET gave it a good review.

2000-2005 - two3 Design
My freelance work is under the psuedonym of two3 Design. Before taking a full time position at GUBA, I would normally take on larger projects that'd last about a year while doing smaller projects on the side. Here are some examples:

1999-2000 - Bigwords.com
Working in a team of designers and developers, I helped define the look and feel of the e-commerce website bigwords.com. My role included making html mockups of the interface that were later plugged into the database. Other tasks at bigwords.com included creating a UI for a bigwords.com radio player, Flash animations for the website, print design campaigns, and internal print marketing campaigns. The company ceased to exist in 2000.
